Tooth Extractions in Stamford, CT

While it is always our goal to preserve your natural teeth for all your life, tooth extraction becomes inevitable sometimes. In some cases, this is the only way to restore your oral health.

At Regency Family Dental, we will work to tooth extractions as stress-free and comfortable as possible. When necessary, we can use laughing gas along with local anesthesia to help prevent pain and anxiety during your tooth extraction procedures.

A tooth extraction refers to the removal of a tooth from its jawbone socket. This may be necessary for a variety of reasons including:

  • Gum Disease and Cavities: Advanced gum disease can cause the jawbone around a tooth to deteriorate. The tooth becomes damaged beyond repair and needs to be extracted in such cases to prevent further damage to other teeth. Similarly, when a tooth is infected with cavities or a serious infection, and the problem advances to a stage where the tooth can no longer be repaired, an extraction needs to be performed.
  • Orthodontic Treatment/Crowded Teeth: Sometimes, a person’s dental arch is too small to accommodate all of their teeth. This can cause issues with their bite and the alignment of their teeth. Extractions are performed in such cases to help make room in the mouth so that orthodontic treatment can be conducted to align your teeth and bite properly.
  • Trauma: Sometimes, trauma or accident can cause irreparable damage to a tooth, and extraction is the only way to restore your dental health.

If you have a tooth that may require extraction, please contact the office of Regency Family Dental for an evaluation. You can call us at (203) 323-1186 to schedule an appointment.
